You may have heard via the media of the Department of Health’s intention to create a shared electronic record sometimes call the “spine record” or “Summary Care record”. It is their intention to upload details from GP held electronic records to populate the central record.
There are many concerns about this.

If you do not wish your records to be uploaded if the central record system goes ahead, please feel free to notify us by completing one of the “Opt out” letters either from The Big Opt Out website or from the file in the waiting room.
